Peteborough Stage Dance Festival

The Cresset was opened by HRH the Queen in 1978 and funded by Peterborough Development Corporation. We are a registered charity with a commercial trading company which covenants its profits back to the charity annually to help maintain the facilities. The charity also as a resource centre housing partner organisations who run services from our site -2 miles west of the City Centre.

The Charity’s objectives are….

...'to advance education and to provide, or assist in the provision of, facilities in the interests of social welfare, for recreation and leisure time occupation, in order to improve the conditions of life for the inhabitants of Bretton Township in particular and the neighbourhood of Greater Peterborough in general, with particular emphasis on provision for young people, the elderly and disabled. The Company shall pursue these objectives without distinction of age, gender, political, religious or other opinion.' Read more
