The Cresset summer school provides young people aged 9-15 with an opportunity to devise, perform and showcase their talents. it is an environment where young people can learn new skills, increase their confidence, develop social skills and learn to work as part of a creative team. Participants also get to make new friends and to most important of all have fun!

Our ever popular Summer School returns once again and is an absolute must for all children with an interest in drama, acting, singing and having fun. Each week the students work on a performance which is then put on in front of a live audience at the end of each week. Summer School is suitable for age 9+ and is a great place to meet new people and make friends. Summer School prices are £90 per child per week with a reduction for a 2nd child/2nd week. Special offer 2 weeks £160.

Also, available this year is Breakfast Club. Drop the kids off before you go to work and we will provide breakfast for them for just £15.00 per week extra.

 

Up to four workshop leaders week: Maximum number per week 30.

 

Each week has a different theme, but they all involve, text ,music, movement/dance, with an opportunity for parents/ carers, family and friends to see what each group has achieved at the end of each week,  when we extend an invitation to attend a performance.  (This attracts an additional nominal entry charge.)

Peterborough's own Charlotte Chinn (weeks 1, 2 &3 )-Director of Back to Back Productions, Actress/Musician and and Freelance Theatre Director and drama coach - Charlotte has devised and led several of the Easter and Summer Programmes for young people at the Cresset.

 

Ryan Quish* (Weeks 1 and 2)  Another Peterborian, Ryan is a Professional Dancer, Singer and Actor and has been a tutor on various Cresset Easter and Summer schools

 

John Berry - (weeks 1,2 &3) Professional Actor and Singer and workshop leader - back by popular request after last year's very successful summer school

 

Tina Doyle (Weeks 2 and 3) Peterborough based Actress, Dancer and theatre coach, Tina has worked on several Cresset Easter and Summer projects. She is also the Creative Director at Peterborough High School. Tina will be running new drama classes for children and adults at the Cresset from the Autumn. Taster sessions to be announced very soon
